The one-liner: I went in to evolve two plugins. I announced "it's Evolve day." The agent took that real seriously, cleared the whole backlog, and the backlog had notes for a session-wrap plugin I didn't remember we'd planned. It shipped anyway. The notes remembered so I didn't have to.

What I came to do

Evolve two plugins: Vibe Cartographer and Vibe Keystone. That's it. Tighten the two that have been carrying the marketplace.

What "Evolve day" turned into

I said the words "it's Evolve day" and the agent ran with the whole spirit of it, not "evolve these two," but "clear the backlog." Fine by me; that was the intent underneath. Except I'd forgotten what was in the backlog.

In there: notes for vibe-wrap, a session-wrap plugin. Read the trail, render the handoff, gate the commit/push/decision-log. I didn't remember writing those notes. Didn't have to. The agent found them and finished the thing: the last four items in a six-minute run (17:55 → 18:01), wrap render + template, the SessionEnd nudge hook, the evolve-wrap template, README + audit. Then it evicted itself two hours later: remove drafts/vibe-wrap, migrated to its solo repo. Built in the monorepo nursery, finished, moved out.

The part that made me laugh

The plugin that got shipped-without-me-remembering is the one whose entire job is making sure you don't have to remember. vibe-wrap leaves the trail at the end of a session so the next one picks up clean. It got finished because an earlier session left exactly that kind of trail. The thesis bootstrapped itself, I brought the intent, the breadcrumbs brought the memory.

The rest of the backlog, cleared

  • Vibe Cartographer + Vibe Keystone, the two I actually came for, evolved in their solo repos, refs bumped here (alongside taker) for the 626 MCP-name fix.
  • vibe-sec → stable (v0.6.0). The secret-leak scanner graduated from reserved stub to a real release.
  • Evolve-day releases → stable. The batch promotion that says these proved out.

Ten plugins in the marketplace now, each in its own repo, marketplace.json the index. The daily npm-download cron logged its snapshot at 14:32, same as always, the marketplace measuring itself while I wasn't looking.

The bet, restated

I bring the intent. The system holds the memory (notes, backlog, breadcrumbs) so a forgotten plan still ships. That's the whole reason vibe-wrap exists, and today it proved it by being the thing that got built.

Imagine something else.
